"I Will Survive"

Belle and her roommate Chris have decided to keep the remaining little yellow kitten.

<----It's this one.

The vet checked the kitten thoroughly, declared her insect-free and sound, Chris named her (after a character in a book he likes), and the kitty is beginning her new life as a soon-to-be-spoiled-rotten playmate for Valentine the Destroyer.

It's incredible to me that an outdoor kitten wouldn't be flea-ridden, but it was so. Even more incredible to me is that this tiny little kitten managed to survive whatever apocalypse that took her four siblings with no injuries except. . . . her toes have been eaten off.

Eaten off.

This means she's going to have toenail trouble further down the road but Belle and Chris will deal with that when the time comes.

Poor little thing. I am trying not to imagine the scenario.

This is one strong little kitten.
